Wild Water Group, South Wales’ largest temperature controlled storage and distribution company, will support Aberdare regional club rugby side, Hirwaun RFC, with 1st Team kit sponsorship for the 2018/2019 season.
The club competes in the WRU National Division 3 League, with their first game of the season against rivals Whitchurch RFC.
Hirwaun RFC are one of 6 sides being supported by the Group which include Cardiff Blues A, Principality Premiership division clubs Merthyr RFC and Bargoed RFC, WRU Championship university club Cardiff Met RFC and another Division 3 club, Rhigos RFC.
Managing Director Ken Rattenbury says “It’s always rewarding to be able to give back something to a sport you love, especially having been involved in it as a player and administrator over the years. It’s not just about the club – it’s the involvement you see from families in the community and the enjoyment they get from being part of the local setup. I wish Hirwaun the best of luck for the upcoming season”
Wild Water Group will look to grow this number over the next couple of years and will potentially look at club Youth Team sponsorship for the new season.
“With a bit of luck, this is where the next Sam Warburton or George North will be found – it’s all about grassroots rugby – youngsters aspiring to be first team players one day and hopefully moving onto higher honours from there”, says Ken.
